Rated for coastwise towing, she is powered by a 1,000 HP diesel and towing winch for offshore assignments.  

68' long x 20' x 7' 6" draft.

"Thornton Bros."

Built 1958 by Matton Shipyard, Cohoes, New York.  Originally named the "John E. Matton".

83' long x 27' beam x 9' draft

1600 Horsepower 16-567 EMD diesel engine.

"Edith Thornton"

Built in Camden, New Jersey in 1951 for the Reading Railroad as "Tamaqua."

She measures 104' x 27' x 12'.

 The tug was extensively rebuilt in 1998 and is powered with a 2100 horsepower EMD 16-645 diesel engine.
